Knowledge Exchange Professionals

Knowledge Exchange Professionals’ Forum

The KE Professionals’ Forum is one of the KE Hub’s three key networks alongside the KE Champions and the B.I.G. Partnership.

The purpose of the KE Professionals’ Forum (KEPF) is to:

· Provide an inclusive and collaborative peer-support network, making Mathematical Sciences KE Professionals feel less isolated.

· Share best practice and opportunities.

· Support career development by providing upskilling and mentoring for those who would like it.

· Advocate for the career paths of KE Professionals.

· Enhance understanding by central university Business Development/Tech Transfer offices of Mathematical Sciences’ requirements.

· Engage with PraxisAuril.

· Provide access to centralised KE Hub training, reducing reliance on “on-the-job” training. · Encourage close collaboration between each institution’s KE Champion(s) and KE Professional(s) to maximise opportunities.

Membership

The KEPF comprises over 40 representatives from institutions across the UK who support mathematical sciences KE activity. Members range from KE professionals based in departments of mathematical sciences, to those whom are based in faculties or centrally and have mathematical sciences as part of their remit.

Activities

We meet for an hour every month, online, alternating structured and informal drop-in sessions. Topics to date have included communication, student KE, and KE mechanisms. We launched a Mentoring Programme in January 2024, and continue to invite expressions of interest for both mentees and mentors.

How to join

We welcome new members to the KEPF, whatever your level of experience. Please complete this form and we will be in touch shortly to discuss the KEPF further.

If you have any queries or if you would like to discuss the KEPF informally before filling in the form, please contact the KE Hub’s Manager (Rachael Harris; KEHub@newton.ac.uk) or the KE Hub’s Super Champion (Joanna Jordan; joannafjordan@yahoo.co.uk), who chairs the forum.
