Professor Diwei Zhou

Diwei serves as the Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor for Sport, Health, and Wellbeing at Loughborough University, where she also leverages her expertise as an applied statistician. Within her research portfolio, she specializes in advancing statistical analytics in the realm of engineering data, particularly in fields such as automotive, materials, and transport. Furthermore, Diwei dedicates her efforts to enhancing statistical shape and image analysis techniques, thereby contributing to a deeper understanding of biomedical imagery, including MRI, X-ray, and ultrasound.

Diwei has successfully secured a significant amount of funding for multiple research and innovation projects in collaboration with industry partners across various scales and sectors. She has held the position of specialist for the Food Standards Agency (FSA) UK since 2019. She served as the Chair of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS) East Midlands Group from 2019 to 2020. Additionally, her contributions have been recognized through the prestigious Knowledge Exchange Catalyst fellowship, granted by the International Centre of Mathematical Sciences (ICMS) in 2023.
