Lars Schewe is a Reader in Operational Research at the School of Mathematics at The University of Edinburgh. His research is focussing on mixed-integer nonlinear optimization with applications in energy. Beyond energy, Lars has worked on a variety of applications from engineering to health care. He has been recognized for his KE work: He was part of the team that received the EURO Excellence in Practice Award 2016 for its work on evaluating gas network capacities and in 2022 he received the SPI-M-O Award for Modelling and Data Support. Most recently, he has been leading a project with National Grid ESO on outage planning.
